SITUATIE ROND TOMMY ROBINSON

ONTVANGEN VIA DE MAIL:

The Rebel

I’m in London now. Tommy Robinson’s trial at the Old Bailey is about to begin. It’s the re-hearing of his contempt of court case, stemming from his live-streamed Facebook commentary outside a rape-gang trial last year in Leeds.
Tommy was wrongfully convicted of contempt of court and served 10 weeks in solitary confinement before the Court of Appeal freed him from prison, with a scorching condemnation of the judicial misconduct that put him there.
But Theresa May’s attorney general is having another go at him.
I’m in town with Jessica Swietoniowski, the young journalist we recently hired, who did such a great job covering Tommy’s political campaign this spring. We’re also crowdfunding travel for Andrew Lawton from Canada and Avi Yemini from Australia, too.
Last night Jessica and I spoke with Tommy about his thoughts and feelings on the eve of this hearing — which could see him set free, or sent straight back to prison. Click here to watch:
