THE REBEL, about Tommy Robinson

The Rebel

Like you, I’m really getting sick of the UK government harassing Tommy Robinson for his political views.
It's out of control.
And that's what the Court of Appeal said last year when the UK’s top judges threw out a lower court ruling that put Tommy in prison for 10 weeks for peacefully reporting about a Muslim rape gang trial outside a court in Leeds.
That Court of Appeal ruling was a scorching repudiation of the entire system —the police, the trial judge, and the prison system.
You’d think the UK government would never want to talk about Tommy Robinson again. But in fact, Theresa May’s attorney general has specifically made the political decision to prosecute him again for the exact same incident last year in Leeds.
And they’re prosecuting him tomorrow.
In many other countries, this would be illegal — it would be called double jeopardy.
Do you think it’s a coincidence that this hearing is being held just a week before Tommy’s election day?
I know, with 100% certainty, that the UK mainstream media will be cheering on the prosecution. They loved it when Tommy was imprisoned last year. Not one of them questioned throwing a citizen journalist in prison for the sin of reporting on a crime wave. Even after the Court of Appeal ruling came out.
And it’s going to be the same tomorrow at the Old Bailey. The BBC, ITV, Sky News, the Guardian, the Mirror and the rest of them will lie and spin. Their news reports will bear no resemblance to what actually will happen in court.
So, once again, Tommy has asked me to come to London from Canada, to report on things the way they really are.
He has asked me to “live-tweet” the trial, moment by moment, like I did last time. And I’ll also do video reports from outside the court during the breaks.
And I’m doing what Tommy says is the most valuable thing I can do — I’m bringing other journalists with me, independent journalists who aren’t infected by the censorship virus, like UK reporters are. So I’m crowdfunding economy-class airfare, and cheap hotel rooms, for the following reporters:
• Avi Yemini, who just arrived from Australia
• Cassandra Fairbanks, from Washington, D.C.
• (Ms.) Pardes Seleh, from Washington, D.C.
• Andrew Lawton, from London, Canada
• Jessica Swietoniowski, a student journalist at the Rebel (who will stay on for two weeks, to cover Tommy’s election campaign)
• Jordan James, who is coming in by train from Manchester
• And two cameramen
Including me, that’s nine people coming in to cover the trial. We have no agenda other than to tell the truth — to do the real reporting that the UK mainstream media just won’t.
Between the economy-class air tickets and the cheap hotels, the total cost for all nine real reporters is going to be about $30,000 or £20,000. I’ve promised Tommy that I’d crowdfund it — can you please help me?
Even if you can only chip in $10 or £5, it all adds up. Please click here, or go to RealReporters.uk
Thank you — and thanks on behalf of Tommy. He needs our help, and he told me this was something that would make a difference.
Yours truly,
Ezra Levant
P.S. As you may know, only UK citizens can donate to Tommy’s election campaign — but anyone in the world can help us crowdfund these independent journalists to cover Tommy’s trial. Please go to RealReporters.uk
P.P.S. In my last court visit for Tommy, up in Peterborough, my tweets and videos were seen by more than 10 million people on YouTube and Twitter. That’s amazing — and this time I’ll have eight friends with me. Please click here to help!
